The Gauntlet

Essential analysis on a venture's readiness for investment

The Gauntlet was developed by Library House with support from The London School of Economics and Political Science. It represents the culmination of over 10,000 hours researching best practice amongst successful venture investment firms and reviewing current commercial and academic assessment models.

If you are an entrepreneur, the Gauntlet can provide invaluable feedback on key parts of your business. The Gauntlet consists of 16 areas organised around 4 key themes: the Innovation, the Team, the Market and the Investment. The Gauntlet users answer questions in each of these 16 areas and are provided with a wide range of educational resources to support them in their responses. Entrants completing The Gauntlet receive a personal, confidential Report Card assessing their investment readiness, with an at-a-glance summary of strengths and weaknesses. By clicking on each of the 16 areas, they access in-depth feedback on how and why they have been scored and advice on how to improve their business and the answers they give investors.

As an entrepreneur, the cost of using the Gauntlet is £299. The Gauntlet can also be deployed in a range of settings and situations such as business plan competitions or accelerator initiatives. Irrespective of context, the Gauntlet will provide a common platform for support, teaching and assessment to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.
