PV Crystalox Solar pioneered the development of directional solidification of multicrystalline silicon as an industrial production technology during the last decade. Acknowledged as a world leader in this field PV Crystalox is now the world´s largest independent manufacturer of multicrystalline silicon. The company also has developed proprietary and innovative technologies for the processing of solar-grade silicon and the wire sawing of single and multicrystalline silicon ingots.
Multicrystalline silicon wafers have increased their market share continuously over the past few years and are now dominating crystalline silicon technology, the leading solar cell technology today and for the foreseeable future. PV Crystalox says 2007 net profit up 48.7 per cent
PV Crystalox Solar Plc. reported a 48.7 percent rise in net profit and said it is confident about the year ahead as a result of its strong profitability, strong balance sheet and strong operational cash flow. PV Crystalox Solar to invest €80m in new silicon plant in Germany
PV Crystalox Solar PLC said it will invest about 80 mln eur in a new silicon plant in Germany, to be completed by the end of 2008. The company said annual production in the first year is expected to reach 900 metric tonnes and will be increased to 1,800 metric tonnes subsequently.
