Energy: Companies involved in the development of technologies for the production of power from raw energy sources, the storage and distribution of energy from source to point of use, and the discovery and extraction of energy related resources.

Healthcare and Life Sciences: Companies producing devices for diagnosis, monitoring or treatment of human health conditions and those developing therapeutic or prophylactic pharmaceuticals. Also companies providing support services to the healthcare industry and life science companies not involved in healthcare related products.

Services and Retail: Retail companies and those providing services, including support companies offering services to businesses.

Information Technology: Companies developing IT software, hardware, or products and devices including both hardware and software, for either consumer or business use. Also companies providing IT related services, including the design, implementation and maintenance of IT systems.

Other: All other companies not classified elsewhere in the system.
